Non-replica Frozen (Jégvarázs) premieres in Budapest, Hungary

The musical will premiere at the end of September

On September 19, 20, 21, 2025, the fairytale world of Arendelle will finally open its doors to enchant Hungarian audiences with the timeless story of Anna and Elsa. The magical performance will provide unforgettable entertainment not only for children, but also for the whole family, thanks to its incredible visuals, fantastic costumes and, of course, most of all, the talented artists who bring the already well-known characters to life.

It's almost unbelievable, but it's been 12 years since Frozen was first released on the big screen, capturing the hearts of millions with its timeless message about the power of women, true friendship, and the unbreakable bond of sisterhood. Since then, a generation has grown up, but the tale has lost none of its popularity. The animated film was turned into a stage musical in 2017, which, after the West End and Broadway, is now captivating audiences worldwide. In addition to the hit "Let There Be Snow," Grammy and Oscar-winning composer duo Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez wrote additional catchy compositions for the stage work, so in addition to the already well-known film songs, new wonderful songs will soon become hits in Hungary as well.

"Frozen is a true masterpiece. Its creators have preserved the dramatic nature of the Andersen tale on which it is based, and added a lot of hope and sparkle. It is a perfectly structured, well-thought-out and authentic work that captivates children all over the world for a reason, and I am convinced that it also provides lessons and catharsis for adults. The fairy tale world of Arendelle is delightful, and the visuals and visuality are of paramount importance in the performance. After staging The Phantom of the Opera and Mary Poppins, I can say that the theatrical demands of Frozen are among the most difficult in the musical genre. The casting of the play was also extremely demanding. The artists who won the roles have all three skills of musical acting: they move well, are excellent actors, and above all, are great singers." – says director Tamás Szirtes about the play, who in the past 20 years has staged The Phantom of the Opera and Mary Poppins, as well as The Producers, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Spamalot, or the musicals Mamma Mia!, Jesus Christ Superstar and Pretty Woman, which are still on stage today.
