New cast announced for Cabaret

The show will welcome the new Emcee and Sally Bowles on 26 January

The celebrated London revival of Kit Kat Club presents a bold new chapter: from 26 January 2026, Katie Hall and Matt Willis will assume the iconic roles of Sally Bowles and the Emcee, respectively.

Katie Hall joins the production with a strong West End pedigree — she is widely remembered for her acclaimed run in Les Misérables, among other major musicals including The Phantom of the Opera and West Side Story. Matt Willis, formerly of the pop-rock band Busted, transitions from a music career into the theatrical spotlight; his previous stage experience includes roles in Wicked and Flashdance.

They take over from the outgoing leads, who conclude their run on 24 January. The rest of the ensemble includes familiar names: Baker Mukasa continues as Clifford Bradshaw, alongside Ruthie Henshall as Fraulein Schneider, Robert Hands as Herr Schultz, Lucas Koch as Ernst Ludwig, and Jessica Kirton in the dual role Fraulein Kost/Fritzie.

This casting shift arrives at a significant moment for Cabaret: the show continues to draw acclaim for its immersive staging and hauntingly relevant vision of pre-war Berlin. With Katie Hall and Matt Willis stepping into the spotlight, the production promises renewed energy and fresh interpretation — a reinvigoration of familiar characters through new talent. For theatre-goers, the 26 January opening offers an opportunity to experience a classic musical from a slightly different vantage point: familiar in spirit, yet renewed in voice.
