Jesus Christ Superstar with Sam Ryder is coming to London Palladium

The show will run from 20 June to 5 September 2026

This June, London’s iconic London Palladium will welcome a bold new revival of the rock-opera masterpiece Jesus Christ Superstar—starring the electric vocal powerhouse Sam Ryder in his West End debut. The production, running from 20 June to 5 September 2026, reunites the award-winning creative team who first brought the show triumphantly to life in 2016.

Ryder, famed for his Eurovision success with “Space Man” and chart-topping album, steps into the lead role of Jesus with a fresh and contemporary edge. “I’m so excited to be part of one of the biggest institutions in musical theatre the world’s ever known,” Ryder says of the opportunity.

Under the direction of Tim Sheader, choreography by Drew McOnie and design by Tom Scutt, this staging promises to bring a visceral, rock-driven sensibility to the final weeks of Jesus’s life—told, as the show always has, through the eyes of Judas.

With its legendary score—featuring “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Gethsemane” and the spine-tingling title number—this revival offers both long-time fans and newcomers alike the chance to experience a fresh artistic vision of a musical theatre classic.

Set in one of the West End’s grandest venues, this limited 11-week season is a must-see event. Whether you’re drawn by Ryder’s star power, the fresh creative take, or the timeless story itself, this production of Jesus Christ Superstar is shaping up to be a dramatic highlight of the 2026 theatre season.
